Mid-Century Modern Residential Survey King County, Washington
In 2016, the King County Historic Preservation Program selected BOLA to undertake research and develop a context statement for post-war modern-era residences throughout the county. The report serves as a resource for property owners and as a guide to evaluate residences for eligibility for National Register listing and/or county/city landmark designation.
The context statement cites housing development throughout King County, emphasizing suburban growth between 1945 and 1975. It also provides a detailed inventory of twelve selected residences. Intensive level historic property inventory forms were created for the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP), which provided grant funds for the project.
